"Say my Name" - By Adri Sinclair

"Say my Name" - Cover Reveal and write-up!
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Adri-S...

She is a petite girl - looking like Betty Boob - if all things are to be believed. Silent, mostly withdrawn, and looking for a new job as a Demolition Expert. She does not like to be touched, for a very good reason. She fights in a pub called "Devil's Tears Inn" for more than just her life.
Her name? Billy Carter,

He is her boss' brother. A big, bulk of a man who loves blowing things up. He has a little black book full of names - names of girls he use, to avoid his own feelings. He is a serious man who likes to carry his own weight.
His name? Bastian Goldwen.

Straight foward right? Maybe not.

Bastian and Billy belong together, that much is clear - but what about Asmodai? The Demon Prince of Lust who's hankered after Billy from the day she was born? What is the story behind the three-headed dog - Cerberus - and his Mother?

This is a novella, tied in to the Second Breath Series, but a stand-alone read. It has all the elements of Paranormal, Fantasy Romance - without the heat but perhaps a few roller-coaster rides.
Expect the unexpected with this one - and treasure the expected, because the journey is nothing short of a fairytale.

Sex: No.
Expletives: Indicated with squiggles and suggested.
Humour: Plenty.
Drama: Some.
Fantasy: Absolutely.

Chat with Bes Sturgis - Author of Ghouliana Stories

ghouli_book_LRS Sometimes, you meet a person and you can't help but admire their skill and talent for story telling. This, is one of those times. Of course, I nabbed the lady in question in order to share the good feelz!

Tell us about yourself

Ghouliana Stories (Bess Sturgis) is a professional storyteller and author. She writes and tells original “Not Too Scary Tales” designed to give thrills and delight but not fright for listeners of all ages.

When not in storytelling costume, Mrs. Sturgis is a professional artist and lecturer. She delights in sharing her knowledge of art, science, culture and history with children 12 and under at museums, libraries, art facilities and schools throughout the Human World.
“Ghouliana Stories’ The Shoe Troll” is the first book in her “Ghouliana Stories’ Series”.

An abbreviated version of the original “The Shoe Troll” tale was first told publically at the Wayne County Historical Museum, Richmond Indiana, in October 2010.

Additional tales told at various locations over many years, have been incorporated into “The Shoe Troll”.

The artwork on the cover of this book is a digital reproduction of an original painting entitled “Story Time” , created by the author.

It is an abstract representation of characters which appear in this book and in many other tales Ghouliana Stories tells.

The painting was purchased by a private collector in 2011.

What Genre do you write, and what genre do you enjoy reading?
I write fantasy novels for children.  My books are designed for young advanced readers (age 7+) who are academically equipped to handle reading “tween” and young adult books, but who are not emotionally ready to deal with many of the brutal themes of death and sacrifice found in those upper reading levels.

Also, older readers who are struggling to gain reading proficiency while avoiding the stigma of reading “baby books” find my books quite enjoyable.

Me: I would LOVE to write for children - I think it takes a special kind of person to do that, and the idea of working with people in need to learn to read without stigmas added to an already difficult situation is a profound ability! Hats off Lady!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
All of the books in my “Ghouliana Stories’ Series” are inspired by the tales I have written and told as a professional storyteller over the last four decades.

The titles for the next few books in this series have not been released yet by my editors, Vivien A. Hammer and Vincent D. Hammer.

Me: What more is there to add to this? I hang on the spoken word... I hope we'll get a video of you in action! That would be just super cool.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Most people think it is very strange that I write huge portions of my initial drafts by hand on recycled paper, instead of composing at my keyboard.

But, I love the freedom that comes with smearing up clean sides of old used paper with fresh thoughts and ideas.

Another thing is that I love to write ridiculously early in the morning. Some of my most beloved characters have appeared after 3:30 am but before 7:00 am. These characters don’t come shuffling in half asleep, wearing night gowns and slippers. They appear fully formed and dressed to play!

Me: I love this so much - while I do not find it strange myself, I can see how some may. I also like the smell of paper and admirable that you use recycled. I'd love to camp in your mind for a while, meeting these characters!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Is this a trick question??? (Insert a large snarky smile here!)

Sorry about that… ☺

Everything I read influences me… The good writers force me to be more critical of my work; the poor writers show me “how not to do it”.

Me: HAHA! I hear ya!! *claps happily*

What are you working on now?
Currently I am working on the rest of the “Ghouliana Stories’ Series.”

Books 2-3 are in the re-write stage; to be released in summer and fall of 2015.Party_pingr

Books 4-7 are in rough draft stage with projected release date of 2016.

Books 8-12 are outlined and impatiently waiting their turn with anticipated release date of 2017.

Me: Busy busy busy lady!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My publisher, Kids at Heart Publishing, LLC., does a fine job of promoting my work through arranged signings, publicity events, speaking events and tours.

I do some self-promotion through my website, Facebook, Twitter and Goodreads.
Bes passed on a little bit from her book! Have a read!

Friends 1 : At the far edge of town in a gigantic old house with creaky doors and squeaky floors lived four very good friends: Copernicus, an enormous black cat, Galileo, a small brown bat, Newton, an extremely athletic spider and the house’s owner, Banchilla, a very powerful witch.

Now you might think that a cat, a bat and a spider were a strange combination of housemates for a witch to have, but the four friends had been together for a very long time.

Despite all their differences and the occasional near squishing, they seldom squabbled and although each one of them looked equally tasty to the others, none of them had ever had the slightest inclination to make a snack out of anyone else in the house. This made for a very good friendship!

Flash-Fiction by Merrit Kelly

I met Merrit during a FB party - yes, those things exists and I will be co-hosting on the 16th of June with great Authors Like Jen Winters, Merrit Kelly, Julie Nicholls and many many more. But this post is not about that. It is about Merrit!
Merrit recently published her Debut Novel:
Cullenary Seduction -
You may remember I put a bit up about that! It is a spicy romance happening in the kitchen... and we ALLL know kitchens aren't just for cooking.

Merrit writes flash fiction too, based on pictures she takes. This is another passion she shares with her brilliant hubby.
You can see hubby's art right over here...

So without further babbles from me, I share with you a beautiful bit passionate writing.

Jenna, by Merrit Kelly

IMG_3593rose1It was perfect . Yellow with the palest blush of pink at the tips. It glowed from within. The fragrance was intoxicating. He had never seen a rose more beautiful, and yet it still paled in comparison. It wasn’t her soft, dark auburn hair that fell to her shoulders, or her warm welcoming smile. And, it certainly couldn’t compare to the way her green eyes danced playfully when she laughed. Still, it was a close as he would ever come.. It was the perfect way to remember her. He'd name it after her, Jenna. Whenever he felt lost or alone he could come out and water her, uh it. He could water it, and breathe in her perfume. The blooms would last a few weeks. He wasn’t sure how he would feel once she was barren, bereft of blooms. Then, it would feel as if she were really gone. He would be reduced to crossing the days off on the calendar until she bloomed again.

He wiped a tear from his bright blue eyes, and looked out across the garden. It was early yet. The cool air and high humidity created damp, heavy dew on things. The row of rose bushes at the far end of the garden stood proudly, elegantly apart from the rest. Even to the casual observer it was clear the gardener took special care with them. He took off his baseball cap and stuffed it brim first into the back pocket of his jeans. He didn’t care if he got a little wet. It was a mist really, not rain.

Jenna McQaid was the love of his life and the rose he'd created was his tribute to her. They met in 1972 at Boyd Castle’s 21st birthday barbecue bash. Jenna was fun, forthright, and fearless. When she walked up to him and told him he had eyes like Paul Newman, he was a goner. He would have rathered she told him he looked like Redford instead of Newman, but he’d take what he could get. A flurry of dates followed. He’d even considered asking her to marry him when a little invitation from Uncle Sam halted him in his tracks. They exchanged a few letters at first, when he didn’t commit they stopped. He couldn’t expect her to wait for him. Instead, he did his tour of duty with her picture tucked under his shirt close to his heart.

When he made it home in one piece he heard she married and moved way. He wasn’t surprised, but he was devastated. He’d never felt that kind of electricity, closeness with another woman before or since. He never married, choosing to live a quiet life. The garden was his lifeline, his therapy. It kept the nightmares and the stress away. Over time it grew into a much bigger project than he originally envisioned. There was a vegetable garden, a meditation garden, but people came from everywhere to see his flowers especially, his roses. His roses were famous.

Thank you Merrit, for this sweet, powerful, heart-punching bit of writing! My goodness lady!
