I Keep My True Love in the Basement/REMIX is nearly complete. Still got a small amount of work left on it but for the most part it's finished and I'm bound to keep my deadline of late October! :)

I've been having a lot of nightmares lately... one friend has suggested it's due to the amount of disturbing ideas I have, and whatnot. I've been watching less R-rated films and have avoided horror altogether, but that didn't seem to matter much since I had some of the most vivid nightmares I've ever had in a long time all this morning.

I'm thinking my friend is right. The upcoming Dark-Boy, Vol. 3 and I Keep My True Love in the Basement/REMIX will still be published (once I actually get them finished), but after that, I'll be going for a bit more lighthearted fare for a little while. The amount of darkness and violence swirling around in my brain to develop my novels so far are so constant it's starting to mess with my perception and my sleeping habits (especially concerning Dark-Boy).

So my next couple of works will probably be around the 10-12-year-old age range, focusing on lighter ideas I'd written down and put away somewhere. I promise I will do their concepts justice, and maybe they'll even be my best work! Wouldn't that be ironic? LOL.

I've written about 50 pages in the last 4 days for I Keep My True Love in the Basement/REMIX! At this rate, I'll be able to keep that mid-September deadline! It'll be published before the end of this month for sure, though!

In the meantime, I'm still pretty busy with Dark-Boy, Vol. 3 and I Keep My True Love in the Basement/REMIX. I'm aiming for a mid-September release now for the latter.

What's the deal with I Keep My True Love in the Basement? Well... I'd decided I didn't want just the one version for all to see. I wanted both versions up. Think of it as an original, to be remade by the original creator into a bigger, better vision. I guess. Or whatever. The bigger version (or remake) is still in the works, and I've still got a projected goal of finishing it by mid-August, early September. In the meantime, enjoy the original story. Or if it's not your cup o' tea, then don't. LOL. It's nearly five in the morning. What am I still doing up?

So, my anthology reject, I Keep My True Love in the Basement, is being reworked a little bit into a little novella, not quite as long as The Tea Party Affair, but not nearly as short as the Clockworld One-Shot. I've started work on the cover art, and I'm roughly halfway through it already. :)

I'm making good progress on it, and may or may not publish it sometime in mid-August.

Which reminds me, I've got to get some more artwork done. I haven't drawn much lately, and that's a damn shame.

So I got word back from Meerkatpress about the short story, I Keep My True Love in the Basement, that I'd written and submitted for their Love Hurts anthology a few months earlier. Apparently they enjoyed it, but couldn't include it into the anthology, for reasons they haven't disclosed. I'm not particularly discourage or even surprised by this, but a reason would have been nice...

Oh well. :/

I guess this means I have total freedom over this story, though. I can include everything I'd wanted to put into it before, but couldn't due to restrictions provided by the challenge. Once I've extended it to a good length without any padding or pacing problems, I'll publish it myself.

I haven't updated this blog in a while...

Anyway, I came on to inform you guys that I'm now about halfway through Dark-Boy, Vol. 3: Cemetery Rumble, Part I. The first draft, anyway. But it's progress, at least. I doubt I'll be done before summer hits, but I know I'll be publishing it before summer's end for sure.

So now that I've got the Meerkat story done and out of the way (whether they choose to add it to their anthology or not is their decision; i don't mind either way, but it was a nice experience writing it), I can get back to work on what I'd like to call the Cemetery Rumble Trilogy in the Dark-Boy series, consisting of Volumes 3-5. It's all figured out now so they should be coming up in a few months.
