Alexander Engel-Hodgkinson's Blog: Way to Stay "In the Know", page 8

Well, now that I'm about a third into the 1st draft of the third volume (that was repetitive, lol), I'm starting to work on the cover design. Seeing as how the first two volumes had covers that shared similar layouts, I'm gonna experiment with something different. I already have a few ideas here and there, but nothing radical.

The volume itself moves on to Cemetery city, a New York City-styled metropolis, on an island isolated from the rest of the world. It's run by the anarchist organization known as 'The Saints,' and corrupt politicians. Even the mayor's a vicious dictator--and all of them are, of course, after Damian. Unfortunately for these guys, Damian is also after them, with Painkiller, the leader of The Saints, issuing a bounty on Damian's head through a worldwide broadcast, threatening fatal bombings that will soon escalate to nuclear strikes if his demands for Damian's capture aren't met. It's all-out war now, and to make matters worse, Damian's powers are on hold, leaving him with nothing but his instincts and a lot of guns to deal with this new batch of enemies. It'll be a two-parter too, since there's no way in hell I'll be able to fit all of this into one volume without it being twice the size of Sky Japan Welcome Party.

Production for Vol. 3 might be a little slower now, since there are 'complications' at home I have to deal with, including job-searching, which is bound to slow me down even more. But hey, can't write on an empty stomach, right?

Alrighty, so, I've re-uploaded everything and fixed the formatting for my books on Goodreads and Amazon Kindle, so now things don't look so ugly. Also, I've made it so that my first three books are free to read on here. You can read them and/or buy them if you want, but after that, it'll be limited to three-chapter previews after that. I think that's fair. o_o

It'll take roughly twelve hours for the Amazon uploads to be re-processed right now so they should be available by tomorrow. I think when the prices pop up I'll announce Dark-Boy, Vol. 2 on my social networks. Anyway, that's all I really have to say for now... so long.

Well, for the time being, I have no internet at home, so I currently have no way to make any new uploads or blog posts unless it's from school (and I can't see how I'll possibly upload a new book from school). Anyway, stay tuned, I guess. I'll figure something out.

Finished inking a sketch, added it to the Vol. 2 cover, so now the Vol. 2 cover is complete! :D Now all that's left to do is finish up with Vol. 2's content, and then we're good to go.

Wouldn't that be cool if I released Dark-Boy, Vol. 2 on New Years? Hmmm... I don't have much left to sort through so perhaps I could make that happen! We'll see. :D That'd be cool, since then I could call it my New Years Book! Or something...

No, that sounds stupid.

But anyway, after Vol. 2, it'll be the end of all pre-written material, so from then on I'll have nothing but new material to write out. I have a goal to release at least two volumes next year, maybe three. We'll see how it goes.

Lost about a hundred pages for Dark-Boy, Vol. 4 (originally Vol. 3, but you know, complications), so now I'll have to rewrite them. I could've sworn I had it backed up somewhere (like in my email or something) but it's nowhere to be found. That really pisses me off.

Anyway, I've got one new chapter to write for Dark-Boy, Vol. 2, and after that, I think that's it for the chapter-spanning new content, though I may make a few more tweaks further in.

Made a lot of progress with the final go-through for Dark-Boy, Vol. 2 this weekend (almost a hundred pages!) so hopefully I'll achieve one of my holiday goals and get it published before schools open up again.

I think I'm all set with Smashwords now. Got a PayPal account and everything, so hopefully that's the end of all my problems with Smashwords and PayPal... for now.
Anyway, I've got the Clockworld One-Shot up and you can read it for free on here as much as you'd like. Tell me what you think of it, if you've got any thoughts. :) It'd be much appreciated.

So after FINALLY fixing up whatever problems Smashwords had with the book itself (mostly its super-picky cover size restrictions), I now have a new problem: they only pay with PayPal, and I don't have a PayPal! I don't even know how PayPal works... -_-
Complications, complications...

Gonna try to upload Dark-Boy Vol. 1 to Smashwords as an ebook! Still have some annoying 'technical' problems to sort out with it before it goes into distribution mode but I think I'll fix those tomorrow. Until then, I'll be anticipating when I finally get this thing up.
