Quotes

Hi everyone,

Recently, some quotes have appeared on Goodreads that have been attributed to me...quotes about my books promoting infidelity and being a "haven" for it because of some role-playing games in Facebook.

It appears that the original person posting the quotes in my quote stream thinks I write the Black Dagger Brotherhood books and that it's my group on Facebook.

It's not. I don't write that series. As for my own series, I am not responsible for the actions of people who play my characters on any website, Twitter, Myspace, etc. If it comes to anyone's attention that my name is being dragged through the mud, I would appreciate personal contact instead of hit-and-run quotes that only drag it into more mud. I WANT to know if my name or my characters are causing problems. I WANT the opportunity to see what I can do to stop it.

That said, if marriages are in trouble because of books, there are problems in that marriage to begin with. And I do not, in any way, shape or form, encourage infidelity.

Now, back to writing books that women have told me actually HELPED their marriages. *g*

Katie(babs) Can I still count you as my crack, like I do Ward?

message 2: by Larissa (new)

Larissa Ione LOL -- am happy to be crack! (Suppose it's necessary to say that I no way endorse the use of crack cocaine...)

message 3: by Victoria (new)

Victoria YES! Go Larissa.

Oh no, coke bad, but cracktastic literature where I have the shakes until I read the next book, YES! ;)

Larissa Ione Victoria wrote: "YES! Go Larissa."

(((hugs))) Thank you!

message 6: by Ctanner (new)

Ctanner I totally support you Larissa. I love your books and I don’t feel like they promote anything but really good entertainment. Thank you.

message 7: by Jolene (new)

Jolene I love your books and I haven't read BBD that Ward writes, but if there are problems in a marriage you can't point fingers and place the blame elsewhwere, that is something my kids do.

message 8: by Silver (new)

Silver James Trolls are everywhere, unfortunately. You chose a very classy way to respond. Kudos, Larissa! (And I'm really looking forward to the new series!)

message 9: by ibNell (new)

ibNell So I'm sure this is TMI - but have to say it. You are a Super Hero! Your books do help marriages. My husband has asked, “Did you just finish reading a love scene?”
I love my Hubby :)

message 10: by Larissa (new)

Larissa Ione LOL -- you guys are cracking me up. And thank you!

Wendy *Sebella Blue* Mitchell Really???? Really???? Come on people, grow two brain cells that work. Books do not encourage a behavior unless you are a zombie. People puh-lease!!!

Wendy *Sebella Blue* Mitchell Oh wait, no. I was wrong, they do. I now have to become a demon EMT because the book encouraged it. Shheeeshhh!

Sharon (Simi) Ehcstasy People these books do not harm marriages - WHAT THE ....Larissa I love your books and they have reignited the spark in our marriage (25 years). Keep them coming.....

message 14: by Laura (new)

Laura Eventhough my marriage is in no trouble or anywhere near it, reading some of the steamy scenes in your books certainly make my husband very happy that I have my nose stuck in a book ;)

message 15: by Leah (new)

Leah I'm not getting how people think your books or the BDB books support infidelity! What the-?! Crazy people! Love your books, though, and I already pre-ordered Eternal Rider! Can't wait! EEK!

message 16: by Elsie (new)

Elsie Some people just can't separate fiction from non-fiction. Then again, our world would be less interesting without weirdos around.

message 17: by Jenn (new)

Jenn You are definitely in my Book Crack category. Shade introduced me to my addiction, I am happy to say. :) It's funny because my blog is actually named, "Addicted to Book Crack" (www.addictedtobookcrack.blogspot.com) if you want to read it. (Not trying to advertise, I just thought it was a funny coincidence.)

Gab Larissa,
behind you 100% - and I absolutely LOVE your books. Some people just like being judgemental about something as it makes themselves feel smarter/more important. The person in question obviously has not read your books, and it appears the BDB series either.
Yesterday I was giving my 7yo nephew advise for when he gets upset/mad - to picture himself as duck shaking water off his back. LOL, you'd make such a cute duck too. ;-))

message 19: by Larissa (new)

Larissa Ione Thanks, everyone! You guys are making me crack up. See, YOU are the people I write for, and y'all are THE BEST!!!!

message 20: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A Larissa,
I agree with everyone. Books, movies, etc., do not cause infidelity. People cause infidelity. Your books are such an escapism for me. The world you create and the characters you write about are brought to life for me. They make me laugh and cry. They certainly don't incite me to want to cheat on my most fabulous boyfriend! :)

Regardless if it was the BDB series or the Demonica series no one should blame an author for their own infidelities.

Just like Leah, I have pre-ordered Eternal Rider and eagerly await the weekend after its release so I can dig in with both hands attached firmly to the book! :)

message 21: by Karen ~ Divhine (new)

Karen ~ Divhine Larissa - love your books!! If anyone suggests your books, or the BDB, promote infidelity or the breakup of marriages, then I hightly doubt they have read either one of the series.

message 22: by Kat (new)

Kat Dority Larissa - I'm a medical person (lab girl)- and I LOVE the way you get the medical RIGHT!! (Unlike other authors - geez I realize it's fiction - but get the basics right) So.... I thank you for that.
As far as the other thing goes... If the stupid person who wrote it doesn't know Demonica from BDB....
well, it's obviously 'cuz they're stupid so don't sweat the small stuff.
Please know that you have intellegent people/readers that support you all the way. :^)

message 23: by Angela Carr (new)

Angela Carr That' funny because I'm recently reading your books and it's doing wonders for me and hubby. I don't think a demon can can break me and hubby up.
Along with NH Chapter 32 and ch 21.
And BDB is also doing wonders. Hahahaha

message 24: by Gin (new)

Gin I have read the BDB and Demonica and cannot fathom any of those books encouraging infidelity. Are these people reading the same books??? BDB males have one mate and never deviate! WTH!! My husband loves the books I read...it means he gets the TV to himself!

message 25: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Langford I agree 100%. What kind of book are they reading? {Although if I saw Wraith walk in id be gone in a sec;] )

message 26: by Angela Carr (new)

Angela Carr Hahaha. Reading Lore and thinking the same thing. LMAOOO

message 27: by Mary (last edited Mar 14, 2011 09:09PM) (new)

Mary There are some serious nutters out there. If you can't tell the difference between JR Warden and the Demonica Series characters and quotes then you must be a real dufus. This person needs to read the books again. I'm with Sharon Simi after 25 years with my husband these books have ignited the spark between us and we have had serious issues going on in our marriage. So a big cheers to you Larissa, now I'll have a sip of my wine (I wish) more like coffee.
Cheers

message 28: by Gayle (new)

Gayle Good Girl Larissa! Anyone that truly knows you and your works know that you don't promote infidelity...you promote loving, loyal, trusting relationships between two people that truly are devoted to each other. And what is really stupid is that JR Ward does the same thing. Once "Mated" they cannot touch another female.

Isn't there any way for you to reject these idiots on Facebook that use your characters names??

Keep writing!! We love you and your stories!

Gayle

message 29: by Marybeth (new)

Marybeth Really?? We love you! Don't change a thing and keep sending us more!! Jeeze...some people are so uptight.

message 30: by Larissa (new)

Larissa Ione *tackle hugs to you all!* :)

Christen (GoldiloxReads) That's so bizarre! Fiction is fiction...end of story. And just like everyone above said, your books can only help a relationship, not hurt it! *wink wink*

Also, I believe I know what is meant by the BDB books promoting infidelity. There are new story lines that people here on GR have been talking about that have to do with some of the already "mated" characters leaving their mates for new ones!!!

That said, whoever can't tell the difference between BDB and Demonica is crazy! And we all love you Larissa...even though you hug a little hard! :P

message 32: by Molly (new)

Molly Demonica is fantastic, and people who want to slander that are just looking for another axe to grind.

message 33: by Carol (new)

Carol I totally second Molly, ignore the haters Larissa I think you're wonderful & your books have kept me home rather than out bar hopping!
