All things come to an end

In a little over a month, my last book with Avon will be released. When Tempting a Rogue is Trystan's book, and I hope you all enjoy it. This means that Archer will not be getting a book of his own. I'm sad, but it's out of my hands. WTaR is also my last book as Kathryn Smith.

Talk about dropping a bomb, right? lol.

Not to worry. I'm still writing. In fact I'm busier than ever right now. On May 31st my Steampunk Young Adult novel 'The Girl in the Steel Corset' will be released under the name of Kady Cross. I'm so nervous and excited about this it's not funny.

Then, I will have Steampunk romance out next year from Signet Eclipse. I'll be writing those under the name Kate Cross. Those of you who enjoyed my historicals should like these as well. Also, my vampire fans should enjoy my 'extraordinary' heroes and heroines.

Speaking of vampires, I've also sold a new series to another publisher. I don't want to say too much because nothing's been signed, but it will have vampires, werewolves, goblins and corsets. Did I mention they're present day and set in an alternate England where WWII never happened, and a certain long-lived monarch is STILL on the throne? I'm having such fun with this new series! Right now the plan is to release these books under the name Kate Locke.

So you see, I'll have plenty of books for you to read, no matter what your preference. There will simply be another name on the cover. Just keep an eye on my Kathryn-Smith.com website (which will be updated soon) for more info. Eventually that website will forward to the Kate Cross site, but you'll still be able to find out the news about all my many names.

And now I return you to your reading!
hugs
K

KellBell You scared me for a second. I love your books and I don't know what I would do if there wasn't going to be anymore. Probably cry...so I'm really glad I read the rest of this post. :) I'm excited to hear When Tempting a Rogue will be out soon and I'm looking forward to reading your future books (no matter what name they're written under).

Kathryn Smith I'm sorry I scared you! Frankly, thank you for being scared. Sometimes writers wonder if anyone would notice if they just stopped. :-) I hope you do like the new books. The Steampunk might be a little grittier than my historicals (no more than the vamps, though) but I still love writing about the same kind of stories!

hugs
K

Kathryn Smith Thanks! It's crazy exciting. I have so much to do in the next year!

message 5: by Shawna (new)

Shawna I'm sad to hear that your Avon Victorian series is coming to an end 'cause I was really looking forward to Archer's story.

I'm very glad you're still writing and all the new series sound exciting. I'm a big fan of the Brotherhood of the Blood, so I really hope your new vampire series goes through. It sounds verrry interesting and original.

Just keep 'em coming! :)

message 6: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Smith Oh, don't mention Archer! My heart is broken that I won't get to write his book. Sob!

message 7: by Shawna (new)

Shawna *grieves over Archer*

*hugs*

But on a happier note.....

The cover of "The Girl in the Steel Corset" is absolutely stunning! I prefer adult romances, but I added it to my wish list since I love your books. And I told a couple of friends about it, too. :)

Is The Steampunk with Signet an adult romance or young adult?

message 8: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Smith The Signet books are full on adult romance. :-) Complete with sexy bits. lol.

Kathryn Smith I may self pub, but right now I'm so crazy busy that's not going to happen.

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Awww...I'm sad about Archer and my first intro to him and that series was an excerpt of Trystan's book. I can't wait to get my hands on the whole series. I promise to do my best to not fall in love with Archer. But definitely a big congrats on the other news. Your brotherhood of blood was phenomenal!

message 12: by Has (new)

Has I really like the sound of the new series! Although I will be sad to see there wont be anymore straight historicals.

message 13: by Katie(babs) (new)

Katie(babs) No Archer even self-published? :(

message 14: by Delia (new)

Delia OMG! What happened? Well, the important part is that you'll keep writing. I do have a question, then you'll have a new website? I want to stay informed about your new historical s and I have to get used to your the new name also LOL

I agree. I love to much of your work not to know new sites. :-)

message 19: by Terah (new)

Terah Edun I'm curious to what prompts authors to change their names or write under multiple pseudonyms? Is it a genre thing? If you write romance you don't want the young adult crowd to stumble upon them? Love to hear your thoughts and good luck with the new names!

message 20: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth I wish you well on your future books and series but I was wondering about your Nightmare Chronicle series... I have been waiting on pins and needles since the second installment (It was such an exciting ending!!) and I was wondering now that you will be writing under a different name will you publish any more books in this series?

message 21: by Debbie (new)

Debbie My book club recently read both of the Nightmare Chronicle series and we were wondering if there would be a 3rd book, would love to find out what happens with Dawn's mom and Noah. Thanks

message 22: by Nimue (new)

Nimue Sionnach I second the question bout the nightmare chronicles. I loved them.

message 23: by Amyiw (new)

Amyiw I loved your Kate Locke series, starting with God Save the Queen (The Immortal Empire, #1) by Kate Locke . Won one as a Goodreads giveaway and it was excellent. I ended up devouring them. I loved the small hard back form that they came in too and have them on my shelf. One of my favorite UF series. Came to see what other series you had written. Not into the YA/NA so might try the Kate Cross after some Katheryn Smith. I do like PNR also.

This is exactly the question i came here to ask.....

Regan Walker Kathryn, I am a huge fan of yours. Some day when it's convenient for you, I'd love for you to be on my blog, Historical Romance Review. Your Brotherhood of the Blood series, oddly enough, made me fall in love with Historical Romance. I was just telling my local chapter about that series today (I was on a panel for historical romance). Here's my blog addy: http://reganromancereview.blogspot.com/

Diana-christie Biancardi I really love your Sisters of Blood and Spirit series!!! I'm reading the sequel right now! It's the best. So funny and unpredictable. So original. I love it. I'm looking for more of your books to read. Can't wait to read 'Before I Wake.' I started reading the first chapter. You are my new favorite author! My favorite number one author is Richard Laymon, a writer of the horror genre. I have read everything he ever wrote when I was in high school. Now I want to read everything you wrote! Just last year I found your ghost series, and it looks like some of your books were written when I was in college 2004-2008. Now I have time to read them! It's been a while, I know. Wish I'd found you sooner. Thank you for writing such entertaining and funny books with so much action! :)
