Update
Hello friends,
Well, things have just been going right along here lately. Staying busy running the business and keeping up with housework. Ahhh, the exciting life of a writer, right? LOL
Every week I look forward to hearing my daughter perform on Friday nights. It's a new thing, only a month old, but we're having trouble getting the word out. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how we can let the county know? We've sent out flyers, advertised in the local Christian magazine and I tell just about every single person that walks into the store as well as handing them flyers. I suggested they get on the radio and announce it. Our local Christian radio station will let any Pastor have 30 free minutes for announcements. That should help, plus we're getting in touch with Pastors and asking them to mention it to their congregation. I hope and pray it starts picking up. We're in direct competition with county rec ball season. That's pretty big around here and they have games every Friday night.
Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
On another note: I'm so excited! I read Jennifer Murgia's book Lemniscate. It was awesome. I recommend it to everyone. When I got to the last page, she had written an acknowledgement and in it not only did she mention my good friends Lacey Williams and Tom Xander, but me as well! I couldn't believe it. She's such a special woman and I consider it an honor to call her friend. Thanks Jen!
I've been monitoring the progress of Her Sanctuary on goodreads and I had over 900 people who had put it on their "to read" list. Suddenly, and I do understand that people have read it and rated/reviewed it, but the numbers have gone down. It's at 894. What the heck is going on? I hope there's not someone out there encouraging people to take it off their list. I would be crushed if that were the case.
We can get those numbers back up if each of you would recommend it to all your friends. Please, I need as much help as I can get.
That's all the groveling I'm doing today. LOL
I'll be moving into a new house in a couple of months and it is my dream house. I've been kinda hesitant to tell people. It's nicer than any house I've ever lived in and I guess I just can't believe it's finally happening, after 30 years of struggle, failure and disappointment. Please be praying for us. Something could still happen to mess it up. You know, Murphy's Law? I'm very familiar with it. LOL
Well, I'll sign off for now.
God Bless you all!!
