The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

I actually thought you still lived in Texas until I checked my about the author in the House of Hades and freaked out when it said you lived in Boston. But it was a Tuesday and I was probably too busy to go. Still haven't read the book but I really have to buy it.

Bea I bought your book and read it after I got it to my hands. Your new book was fun to read and amazing, especially the first page you open the book. Truly enjoyed it.

I even had your new book series "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard" there was a lot of fun parts when Magnus is around with his friends and their was also a huge excitement in his journey. And can't wait for the 2nd book which is the "Hammer of Thor".

Me too!! I live in New Jersey which isn't too far away, but I just can't find time to go. If it were in the summer, maybe I would have a better chance!!

message 40: by Bridget (new)

Bridget Yay! Congrats! I'm currently reading "The Sword of Summer" and it's AMAZING! I have read all the Percy Jackson books(Daughter of Apollo!) and this question popped in my head. If two demigods had a child, would the child be a half-blood too or would they be something else, possibly a god? I would love to hear answers from anyone who may know! Thanks so much!!

message 41: by Fawzia (new)

Fawzia Hasan They would be demigods with their parents' power.

message 42: by Mary (new)

Mary Nelson Yeah, they'd be like secondary half-bloods. Percy's kids would still be super powerful though

message 43: by Soumya (new)

Soumya Mary wrote: "Yeah, they'd be like secondary half-bloods. Percy's kids would still be super powerful though"

Totally.

message 44: by Zara (new)

Zara The power might be a bit watered down but they would be half-bloods. But Frank's family's power went down many generations so I'm not sure.

Kaitlyn {Daughter of Hecate; Shadowhunter} Starry wrote: "I love your books. But I refused to read Blood of Olympus when I heard that Percy didn't get a viewpoint, and plus, if I don't read it, Percy's story won't end. And now... I guess I have to... (I s..."

I totally get what you're saying. Honestly, for me, Blood of Olympus was a bit of a let down, since I feel like Percy and Annabeth weren't really that important in the plot of the whole story (well besides the whole Gaea thing...). Even though there are new characters, I feel like the original characters like Percy and Annabeth should never really fade away into the background because fans who have read PJO will still want to see them being active in more series.

message 46: by Zara (new)

Zara I felt sort of disappointed too. Not about Percy and Annabeth, they're awesome and all, I've been reading about them since I was 8, but they're not my favourites. I was disappointed with Frank and Hazel's storyline. I sort of feel like they didn't get to do so much. Well, Hazel did in the last couple of books, but Frank didn't really.

I did like the Athena Parthenos storyline a lot. In HoH and BoO I thought one of the storylines was better than the other, which was sort of annoying.

P.S. My fave characters are Nico, Leo and Hazel.

message 47: by Zara (new)

Zara Plus: Annabeth is my 4th favourite, and of course Percy is awesome, but I do get annoyed that the books are always advertised with Percy and Annabeth all the time.
I have the UK versions and on the cover at the top it says:
Lost Hero- return to Percy Jackson's world
Son of Neptune- Percy Jackson is back
Mark of Athena- Percy Jackson and Annabeth return
House of Hades- Percy Jackson's deadliest adventure yet
Blood of Olympus- Percy Jackson's final battle begins

+ Gaia was too easy to get rid of. Kronos took longer.

Kaitlyn {Daughter of Hecate; Shadowhunter} I love Hazel and Frank too and I agree with you when you say that they didn't really get to do anything. I think that people really overlook them as characters but I loved them when they were with Percy in the Son of Neptune! Everyone focuses so much on Percy, Annabeth, Leo, Piper, and Jason, but I feel like Hazel and Frank are often forgotten which is sad because I love both of their characters

Kaitlyn {Daughter of Hecate; Shadowhunter} I think that their fight with Gaea wasn't drawn out enough. The actually fight itself was pretty short compared to when they fought Kronos. Defeating Kronos also felt more dramatic for me because of Luke.

message 50: by Molly Kate (new)

Molly Kate I know. I love Frank and Hazel! I would take them over some other characters any day! I would love to see them in the future in the Trials of Apollo series.
