Five Sentences, Three Events, Two Videos, and a Bag of Chips….

Heya everybody,

It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to get a solid blog up, so I thought I’d remedy that today, especially as there’s some news that’s a little time sensitive….

First and foremost, I’ve got a few readings and Q&As coming up in places I don’t visit very often.

Charleston, West Virginia

This Saturday (October29th) I’ll be in West Virginia for the West Virginia Book Festival.

I’m going to be giving a talk on the importance of reading. (Where hopefully I’ll find something...

I knew I was pronouncing it wrong by saying Kuh-Vaw-th, but it felt grittier and better to me. Saying it properly makes him seem like a pompous prince. But after having friends who also read it and pronounce it the right way when we talk about it, I now say it properly too, even in my own head. :/

Amie Don't believe everything you read in comments. There has been no announcement on when the 3rd book is coming out. Pat's website still says, "...when there is news about book 3, I will pass it along. I don’t glean joy from withholding information; when there’s news, I’ll tell you. "

Arnav Nathan What does one read while one waits for Him, and GRRM, to write the next book?

Steve Adeptus Natesh wrote: "What does one read while one waits for Him, and GRRM, to write the next book?"

Scott Lynch, Steven Erikson, Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson, Glen Cook, Terry Brooks, Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind (Original Sword of Truth series, have not been happy with more recent works), Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman (Death Gate Cycle is excellent but they have a long history of great books.), Brent Weeks, Mark Lawrence, Joe Abercrombie.... I could go on but this is more than enough to have you reading quality non-YA fantasy for a good long time.

Ok Steve,

Now I'm hoping Patrick and GRRM take their own sweet time over the next books. No rush. I have loads to read. I'm currently reading Poirot by Agatha Christie; which I started reading as I lost my Kindle, on which I was reading Terry Pratchett's Discworld Books.

Cheers Natesh

NP, If I remember correctly the first Gentlemen Bastard takes a bit to get into and ends up being decent. Books #2 and #3 are excellent. #4 is on my to read list but a shit ton of incredible series books just came out so don't know when I'll get to it. Glad to be of help.

What's Missing in the Kindle Version is a really good Map. Haven't found a nice hi-res version online.

Comments / Thoughts so far (about 25% through Book 1) - It's an interesting world with a nice set of mysteries. So Far Locke Lamora seems a God. Lets see how it goes. These grimy dirthy beaten-down worlds are fun.
