Bestselling thriller authorRoger Hobbs died of an overdose in Portland yesterday. He was 28.

He and I performed at the inaugural Portland Noir at the Bar three years ago, along with Greg Rucka, Johnny Shaw, Lisa Alber and Chris La Tray. He had woken up that morning to the news that his first novel had won multiple awards, and when I head him read I understood why.

Nothing to say about this other than it’s a damn shame.
