Sigh! Sometimes I wish I could work from home; considered it more than once. But then I realize that I need to have people around.
She didn't quit because of me per se, but I was the one she hated the most (to this date, I don't know *exactly* why; I only have my assumptions based on stuff she said to my face, and behind my back to my friends). And yeah, she quit because everything rubbed her the wrong way; but my guilt and fear come from wondering, what if someday I'm in a team that rejects me. Like they say, what goes around comes around, etc etc. Let's hope not!
It was so nice and thoughtful of you to try from your side, but you know, you can't please everyone. No matter how hard you try, you'll find someone who won't like you/your style/ideas. She, obviously, didn't quit because of you. She quit because she didn't want to change/understand/adjust. Some people can't deal with their ego, and that may cause problems especially when they have to work with a team. :)
Best wishes...
Tarang.
