Q. Welcome to the blog! Briefly introduce yourself and tell us what genre(s) you write.
A. Hi! My name is Kelsie Stelting – I’m a perpetually curious writer who loves creating young adult romance readers can escape to and vacation in.
Q. Are you a self-published author or traditionally published? What’s the first book you published?
A. My first book, Raising the West, made me a self-published author. Now, I have two books and three novellas with my name on the cover!
Q. What’s the first book that had an impact in your life and how?
A. The first book that had an impact in my life was “The Foot Book” by Dr. Seuss. I don’t remember this, but my parents read and re-read that book to me. As I got older, the Harry Potter books were the first big chapter books I remember reading.
Q. If one of your books turned into a movie, which one would it be? Which actors would have the lead roles? Who would direct it?
A. This is a great question, and very difficult since I write YA romance! I’d love to have Unfair Catch be a movie, with Jesse Metcalfe leading as Rhett, and Izabela Vidovic as Savannah!

Q. If you could be a book character for a day, who would you be? Why?
A. I’d love to be Hermione Granger—beautiful, brilliant, and handy with a wand! What else could you ask for?
Q. As an author, what are the hardest scenes or topics to write about?
A. The hardest topic for me to write about are things that trigger my PTSD or bullying and isolation because I felt so much of that in high school. I try hard to write books that are as trigger-free as possible, so readers feel safe when they pick up my books.
Q. If you had two minutes to speak to all your readers, what would you tell them?
A. I would tell them thank you for trusting me with their imaginations, that I pray for them regularly, that I wish them all the happiness in this world, and that I’m here any time one of them wants to chat!
Thanks so much Kelsie for taking the time to share your work with us and answer our questions! You can reach Kelsie on Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and her Website.
