Dear Mrs Yen Mah, I just want to thank you for writing your book, 'A Thousand Pieces of Gold'. I have read this book twice about a year or so ago. I just started my BA (Hons) Chinese Studies and found the History of China lectures difficult to chew but today, I actually found the lecture comprehensible (topic was on the first emperor of Han and Sima Qian) because I've read your book and it helped so much. I will recommend this book to my 'tongxue' if they want an easy to understand version plus being able to learn Chinese proverbs at the same time.
