Do you ever wonder who writes the plot synopsis (cover copy) on the back of a novel?
It's an interesting process, and I think it works differently depending on the publisher. Normally, the editor sends a basic plot outline to the copy department, and someone there writes up a first draft. This is forwarded to the editor, who forwards it to the writer for approval. Small changes can be made at that point.
