Surviving Le Petite Morte-Part Two

*Author's Note: I'll put up Part Two of the Virgin Special Forces: The Alpha Team, either tomorrow or over the weekend, depending on if I get any writing on The Alpha King done and also how long my VA appointments run tomorrow.  Enjoy Part Two of SLPM.*

Surviving Le Petite Morte Part Two

Detective Joshua Sutton stepped out of his patrol car with a scowl.  He couldn't believe that he was being called to a crime scene where the perpetrator was not only still with the victim but one where the suspect confessed to committing the crime at the same time that he called for help.  People were getting weirder and weirder when it came to committing crimes, but then again, if someone could sing a song about a day of the week and have everyone walking around singing about it being "Friday", even on the days when it wasn't actually "Friday," then he shouldn't be surprised that the criminals were being just as ridiculous.  He grunted when he realized that his train of thought had set up his mind to start playing the dreaded "Friday" song and he stomped towards the door of the apartment."Think it's murderer's remorse Sutton?" his partner, Casey Lonnigan asked as he followed him to the door.Joshua turned around and gave Casey a look of annoyance.  "It has been my experience, detective, that murderers are never that remorseful, that quickly.  I think that maybe this perp got caught and so he called and confessed," he admitted, noting the sound of movement from within the apartment."Sometimes someone kills someone else without truly meaning to though," Casey stated with a nod.Joshua snorted as he looked at his partner with fresh eyes.  "You really believe in that whole innocent until proven guilty thing huh?" he questioned the other man.  Casey was the perfect physical display of a teddy bear.  With his light brown skin, covered with black hair, and his very wide, somewhat "round" figure, and wearing his dark green police uniform, he looked like a stuffed teddy bear wearing a police uniform.  The kind given to little kids in the hospital.  Casey nodded at his question and Joshua sighed.  Casey was older than him.  At forty-five he should really know better that to still believe that all people are inherently good.  It wasn't true.  Everyone was a criminal or had the potential to do something illegal.  It's just that some people follow their natural urges while others resist those urges with all of their strength.  "Look Lonnigan.  This man, this…Duan, he's guilty okay?  He sounded like the type to have killed his boyfriend.  And the fact that he called to turn himself off doesn't mean that he confessed to murder out of grief for his partner.  It means that he confessed to throw suspicion off of himself-" his words cut off abruptly when the door opened.  Joshua turned around and felt his heart pound in his chest, his mouth went dry and all the moisture there went and covered his palms, as he stood looking down at the most attractive, the most beautiful man that he'd ever seen in his life.  The man in question stood looking at them with a scowl on his face."And sometimes the person confesses because their partner died while they were having sex and said partner was having an orgasm.  Think that could be the reason that I called and confessed, you asshole?" the beautiful man, with his milk chocolate skin tone, small, thin frame, big dark brown eyes, full lips and wide nose, asked, his words laced with tension, venom, disgust, frustration and was that?  Oh yes…it was pain.  Joshua felt like a shit.  For making Duan feel worse by reminding him of not only who it was that died and how he did so."I do apologize sir.  I'm Detective Joshua Sutton and this is my partner, Casey Lonnigan.  We serve the city of Fairburn, diligently and we would be devastated if you were offended by my callous words," Joshua watched as the man looked him over, a grin coming to his face, an answering smile stretched the muscles of his mouth."Don't be devastated.  Just don't be callous.  But it doesn't matter anyway.  I forgive your words and reject you and your partner's presence.  You want to see how evil I am?  Get the fuck away from my house.  I want someone who won't be looking for ways that I'm guilty, but ways to catch the criminal.  And you are not that someone," Duan answered before stepping inside the door quickly and slamming the door shut.  Casey jumped when seconds later they heard Duan's loud "ASS!" heard through the door and with a grimace Joshua turned to look at him."So what your plan now…………detective?" Casey asked with a smirk.
