I almost never get these five beloved monkeys (including you @theworldiscallingyou ;-) together. The kids and I go to Grainfields for a cheerful (okay, bonkers) breakfast on the morning their dad returns from a work trip. We’ve been doing it for years and today, as Yann’s been away for ten days, we’re pretty excited to have him home tonight. These last ten days have shown me a glimpse of how hard it might be to raise kids as a single parent. I have help and school and sitters and I still feel pushed to my limit—my patience is stretched, my body is tired from night wakings and early mornings, I hear myself being stressed and exhausted and grumpy—and my work is all over the place (sorry if I’ve dropped the ball on something you expected me to do!) I have crazy admiration for people who parent alone #respect
