Here's a place that's extremely special to Becc, the main character. I won't say exactly what happens here‚ but I will say there's more than a little wish fulfillment in this novel.

When the island is behind us I can still see it in my mind.
I’m an expert on Catalina. Only town: Avalon, population 3,000, named after the mythical island in King Arthur. No cars allowed. Only golf carts, like a movie set. At sunset, the light is an exquisite pinkish-gold.
Look at that color, Becc. It’s the magic hour."
