Bracing for Impact…

Hey there everybody – long time no blog.

This year has been… a year. It feels like it has stretched on forever. Endless and interminable. Like I’ve been living Zeno’s year.

In other ways the time has blurred by. I feel like I’ve spent the whole year running from emergency to emergency, trying to put out fires. And now, after all of it… the fires are kinda still there? They’re not worse for the most part, which is nice, I suppose. But it feels like I should have more to show for this than...

Samantha You're a beautiful person and it's so good to know that there are others out there like you, trying to make the world a better place.
“It was at this point that Bilbo stopped. Going on from there was the bravest thing he ever did. The tremendous things that happened afterward were as nothing compared to it. He fought the real battle in the tunnel alone, before he ever saw the vast danger that lay in wait.” - Tolkien

DesertSlug Some years are like that - big fires, little fires, fires that keep smoldering. It usually means the next year will be better - but not always. I am sorry you have had a burning year.

And I am SO sorry humanity sucks and that you have a passion that puts you in a lime light. You have created stories and characters that are amazing, and I truly hope you write more. But if you never write another word, that is sometimes the path of an artist and how dare anyone say otherwise. I see there is a possible 2020 release date for Doors of Stone - congratulations. But the book will be out, or it won't. Do not be beholden to anything but yourself.

I thank you for your contribution, and I am sorry you have been so hassled. Do what your passion leads you to do - scripts, novellas, movies, bee keeping, archaeology - and if and when you are ready, the world might get the 3rd installment of Kingkiller.

Anastasia Your mind and your vast types of work warms the cockles of my heart. I hope my local game/nerdtacular store will be as intrigued as I about the charity work...how do I successfully share this?
