Being an author isn't about the number of words you write, but about what those words are. In my opinion.

Highly conflicted here... as someone who read Name of the Wind + WiseMan when it first was published.. and chuckled at the in-jokes in goblinscomic about the books.... and devoured it and bought copies for my family.. and then bought the unabridged audiobooks...
as *that* person, I smiled at the comment and as someone who listened to the PR podcast in Geek's guide when he spoke about the amount of time he spends revising... I would say quit gilding the lily and release.

As someone who has sympathy for someone who doesn't want to feel "bullied" into releasing early like Richard Garriot in the later Ultima games... I have sympathy to him taking his time.
However, given WMF came out in 2011, nearly 10 years ago, i would say that PR should finish and release, otherwise, like someone at the top of a big waterslide, it will get harder and harder to finally make the jump and complete it!
