Contest Winner & AnniBirthdays
Normally I post the winner super early, but today is my Annibirthday so I've been out and about. Yeap I said Annibirthday. The hubby and I first tied the knot on my birthday four years ago. But there was a method to our madness. It was the anniversary of the day we decided to take the leap from friends to more. Who says men aren't sentimental? The ceremony was just the two of us after an impromptu photo shoot on the beach where I wore a vintage, beige, lace embellished dress complete with pill box hat and gloves.
Six months later we had our wedding renewal with the whole family. He wore his dress blues, and I wore the pretty white dress. It was wonderful, but there's still something about that ceremony with just the two of us that will forever resonate as special and the start of our life as our own family unit.
For those of you follow my blog ( If you don't get signed up, we have a lot of fun on here, I swear ) you know the focus was on love. I never did a post, because I knew the next month we'd be getting to my Annibirthday and I would speak my piece on love then.
For me love is about understanding, patience, friendship and endurance. Yes passion is there and essential, but sometimes the most romantic thing is being able to wake up and see your significant other beside you. To hear their voice when they call to tell you they miss you or wish you a happy birthday, anniversary because they remembered , despite how far away they may be. This being said, my husband is a marine. Which means he's gone often, and the little things often taken for granted mean the world to me. Its those gestures that keep me going during those long stretches of not having the Mr. by my side when I'm holding it down on the home front.
Now that you've all gotten a glimpse into my world I'll get back to the contest. Thanks to everyone who participated, the winner is Danielle! I hope you en joy the story! Keep checking back for more contests. I have some more things planned for the very near future.
