SWTWC volume 2 is coming...Tiger...and life update

Something Wicked This Way Comes volume 2 is available for pre-order at Kindle and B&N for May 1st. I'm really honored to be a part of this anthology set with so many talented authors. Jaid Black, Regina Carlysle, Katalina Leon, Aubrey Ross, and Diana Hunter, along with myself have stories in the volume 2. Here is the blurb for mine. Scarred and Kilt by Laurann Dohner
Matty has a new neighbor, and she strongly suspects the kilt-wearing hottie is a vampire—he only goes out at night, has weird visitors and the blood bank is making regular deliveries. But he doesn't seem to hurt anyone, so "live and let live" is Matty's motto. Until she sees a guy armed with crosses and wooden stakes breaking into the neighbor's house. Matty charges to the rescue—and ends up in Mr. Hottie's bed…and on his desk…and…

Tiger is coming out April 10th where it is available for pre-order on Kindle and B&N. It hits Ellorascave on April 11th. It will be released at other vendors shortly after that. Blogger has cut out again and suddenly stopped allowing me to link so please go to my website for links. www.LaurannDohner.com Here is the blurb.

Book 7
in the New Species series.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Zandy's had too much to drink and is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She knows she's going to die. When next her eyes open, a beautiful man-creature is holding her in his arms. He's just too tempting to resist; her very own fallen angel. She wraps herself around his body, determined to have him. But when this angel turns out to be flesh and blood, reality crashes in she's seducing a New Species.

Tiger's shock quickly turns to intense passion when the human female kisses him, despite the fact she's trying to get his clothes off while he's engaged in a task force operation. He's also made it clear he'll never take a mate. Rather difficult when he and Zandy can't keep their hands off each other. The taste and feel of his little human just leaves Tiger wanting more.

I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all my readers, friends, and family. If you hadn't heard, Wrath hit the New York Times and USA Today Best Sellers lists. I'm...stunned. Honestly. Humbled. I was a housewife with a love for writing, a dream that I refused to give up, and I never expected my books to do this well or be read by so many. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every day I feel extremely blessed because I get to do what I love so very much. I also want to thank everyone at Ellorascave. They gave me an opportunity to get my stories out there and they have been so supportive, so wonderful, and have become like family to me. I can't wait for Romanticon to come because I'm going to be hugging a LOT of people! LOL!!! They were also nice enough to put a fantastic banner up on the Ellorascave website.

On the home front...long story but we may have to start all over on the house hunt. We'll find out next week. My life has been put on hold by this while we waited for everything to come together. They pushed back the closing four times. It's really been...depressing but that's life. Stuff happens. I'm going to look on the bright side if we don't get the house. I fell in love with it, had mentally gone over every inch of it on where I wanted to put stuff, and imagined us living there but...if it comes down to it, we will find another one. Maybe we'll love it more.

The down side is starting the process all over again. It won't be easy finding a babysitter for our three younger children to take yet another trip or two to Vegas. The kids are in school so they probably won't be able to go with us unless we plan to do it on a weekend. I can't see them surviving looking at ten plus houses a day for two in a row without some major crankiness. LOL. Whatever happens, it will work out somehow. I'm a firm believer in that and I always have my sense of humor. I just hope there are plenty of houses available to look at that could close fast. It's tough because we need a lot of room with our family and I'm set on getting my own office. No more writing in a corner of my living room!

On a personal note - Mr. Laurann and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary this Sunday!!! I get asked how we met and how I knew he was the one. It's...kind of a funny story. I had come out of a really bad relationship and had sworn off men. Yeah. I think we've all been there, right??? I had promised myself that I'd take at least a year off from dating. A friend of mine called me and long story short, she introduced me to him. You know that saying opposites attract? It applies. LOL. By the time dinner was over I was fascinated by him. He was really smart, reserved, and...so not my type. That's okay. I wasn't his type either. LOL! We talked for days and started dating.

I knew he was the one when he took me and another friend of mine shopping at the mall. She had been invited to this formal event and we were sitting inside this dress store while she tried on gowns. A song came on over the speakers and he held out his hand to ask me to dance. Glass windows to the interior of the mall be damned. So there we were, slow dancing around racks of dresses to Wind Beneath My Wings and Under the Boardwalk (Bette Midler sung them). People stopped to gawk at us but we didn't care because it was one of those moments when only the two of you exist. I knew then that he was the 'one' for me. He's a hell of a man! Every year we get to spend together is the best one yet. He's my best friend, my lover, and one day I hope to chase him around in my wheelchair despite knowing it won't be hard to do since he'll let me catch him. I love him beyond belief and I know he loves me that much too.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic day and happy reading! I'm going to go write.

Laurann

Amber First of all, congradulations on the continued success. You are a brilliant writer, and i can't get enough of your work. And a very happy anniversary to you and Mr. Dohner! I absolutely love the story of ya'll slow dancing in a dress store at the mall. I swore off men too when i met my husband and he was totally not my type, but i love him with every bit of my soul and wouldn't have it any other way. Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about the house, that has to be hard when you get your hopes up, visualize it all and then its out of your reach. I do so hope things work out, if not with this house, something even better.
I just finished Wrath and oh my, I'm just totally in love with New Species. I have read that you plan on writing a book for Flame and Breeze, but pleease tell me there will be one for Brass. I can't wait until Tiger!! While I'm waiting I am going to be reading the Mating Heat books. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your stories with us. And i hope everything works out for you and your house.
