Sonoka Takahashi 25, years wow, this amazing book ( the amazing sequals as well) deserves this 25 year celebration.

When I started the book, after the first 100 ish pages I remember being so excited about how all the best parts of fantasy and books were being combined into one amazing series.
These fantastic characters that I could relate so much to (past the idea of magic), the amazing descriptions of all the beautiful scenery, and the engaging plot lines were some of my highlights from reading the books.

Natália This was the book that made me "a Reader". An aunt gave me the Brazilian first edition as a 14th birthday gift on September, 2000. At the time I only read school books, and a 80 pages book was a two months struggle, I started the book on a monday and by friday I had finished 263 pages, asked my mom if we could buy the second one, she bought it on that weekend and I read the next one in three days, the Brazilian edition of third book would only be released on December of that year, so I started reading other books, when it came out, I read in two days. Needless to say that I was both impress and disappointed with myself.

On the beginning of 2001 a friend gave me the English version of Goblet of Fire, and I read more the dictionary than the book (LOL) but it helped me to learn English. And by the time that the Order of Phoenix came out I was reading English versions of all the books.

Harry Potter will always have a special place in my reader heart.

Taryn Harry Potter saved my life. I've been a reader my whole life, but when Harry Potter came into existence, I was in middle school and so heavily bullied, I didn't want to keep going ... but this world and Hogwarts taught me how to stand up and keep fighting! Thank you J.K. Rowling. Thank you Harry!

message 13: by Couet13 (new)

Couet13 25 ans déjà!!!!! Joyeux anniversaire!

Maddy Nistler Harry Potter has been so helpful to me. It's given me a book to truly love and enjoy. J.K. Rowling, I can't thank you enough for Harry Potter. It's the friend who's always been there no matter what and never let me down, it's my safe space. I finally got to go to The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida, and it was the best days of my life. I have so many fantastic memories surrounding Harry Potter, and none of that would be possible without you. Thank you so much for the incredible home we call The Wizarding World ❤

Allison Pennington There are no words powerful enough. Thank you just doesn't cover what these books mean to me. What all of JK Rowling's writing means to me. I am forever a Harry Potter fan and forever a fan of the world. JK Rowling's imagination is amazing and unlimited, and only once in a lifetime does someone this awesome create a classic like this. 25 years is only the beginning. These books will be classics for decades to come. What an amazing legacy.

message 34: by Lilly (new)

Lilly I remember all my friends had started reading them so i watched the movie first lol (book way better) and i really enjoyed it even though i didnt think i was going to!
Ravenclaw forever!

message 35: by Lynne (new)

Lynne I watched all the films and then a long time passed and my niece was raving about the books, so I bought the complete set and read them all. I am glad I did as there is so much more detail in the books. It took me back to my school days, before mobile phones and computers. It reminded my of my friends, adventures and using my imagination to write essays in English exams. Thank you J K Rowling, so very much for giving me those memories back.

message 36: by Carolina (new)

Carolina Perdomo I'm literally from the generation that started reading thanks to Harry Potter. I still remember the first time I read the Philosopher's Stone: we were in the hospital waiting for a surgery that was going to be done on my dad (or an aunt). My cousin, a few years older than me, had the book in Spanish. I grabbed the book and started reading the first chapter. After that, I asked my parents to buy it for me. Since then, reading is an activity that is now part of my daily life and has opened the door to other worlds for me. I can never thank J.K. Rowling enough for this.

message 37: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa Innes-Wagstaff I first noticed the series when the Chamber of Secrets came into our bookshop, about 10 copies I recall. People were just mentioning it with affection...I hadn't quite cottoned on but by the time Azkaban arrived it was all mayhem! It was a wonderful time to live through. Amazing queues round the street. Finally I did meet JKW at a signing.

message 38: by Sunidhi (new)

Sunidhi i bought my first , physical copy of all the books , in august this very year , and , to tell you the truth , just the sight of those 7 books on my table makes my mouth water , with longing , hope to end my nursing course soon , so i can start earning money of my own and then but all the books , I've read till today
phillosopher's stone , story of me would be , that , before I had started the book , I had not actually watched the movies , just a sight or two of the posters but the simple yet detailed words of the books had such a vivid effect on me , that I read the books until I had finished with the series , it was my BLACK HOLE OF DELIGHT
