The Dragons Are Here

Tonight’s the night.

It has been three years since GAME OF THRONES wound up its run on HBO… and way way longer since we began the development of the successor series that eventually became HOUSE OF THE DRAGON.

You have been reading all about it for days… or weeks… or months… depending on how closely you follow the news out of Westeros.    Me, I’ve done more interviews that I can count.  We had a huge panel in Hall H at San Diego Comicon, and red carpet premieres in Los Angeles, Amsterdam, London...

He is not obliged to finish the books for us. How many times have comments like these been commented?

Andy Not enough, he hasn’t finished the book.
And nobody said he was obligated (which is how you spell that word) just that it’s been a decade and maybe it’s about time an author write a book, preferably one in this series, instead of other books and TV shows and swimming in his money vault Scrooge McDuck style and complaining online about ‘toxic’ and ‘entitled’ fans instead of just doing his job.

Cade N. Smith "Not enough". Really? Reaaally?

That IS how you spell obligated! Well done! But that is also how you spell obliged, which is a different word with a different meaning (although similar).

"Doing his job". I hear that a lot; like "Godd... it's his job to finish these books!" Well, yeah.. but doesnt the man have a right to change jobs? Doesn't the man have the right to do what he wants to do without people being horrible to him, sending him death threats, and yes, being toxic? And then doesn't he have the right to complain about those people?

Writing a book is very hard, very exhausting, and it can take years. We shouldnt expect someone to do that if they dont feel up to it.
