The Booker Prize: Elizabeth Strout answers readers' questions about 'Oh William!'

The Booker Prize is the leading literary award in the English speaking world, and has brought recognition, reward and readership to outstanding fiction for over five decades. Each year, the prize is awarded to what is, in the opinion of the judges, the best novel of the year written in English and published in the UK and Ireland.

Patty I have read all of her books....that being said I am probably the only one who did not care for Oh William....all that "Oh William" stuff was just got on my last nerve and just a very silly story.

Lesley Moseley I don't agree. I have just listened to the first two, and the 4th which I got for Xmas, and and have just started 'Oh William'... The narrator, of them all, Kimberly Farr, does such a good job of differentiating each utterance of it. It really gives some more insight into Lucy.

Nicole Marshallsay Thank you for sharing, Lesley. I loved 'Oh William', but your recommendation makes me think to try the audio version of one of Strout's other books. The sheer amount of characters left me somewhat puzzled at the end, so this might be a nice way to enjoy it again and over a shorter period... Wouldn't want to miss anything in Strout's beautifully constructed narrative web!

Sorry for the delay, but my outlook has decided I will not have any new notifications! I have to find an old link, then check on this page. GRRRR. Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the the whole set.
