Listen to Me Chat about Live Action Lois Lanes on the Live With Lois Lane Podcast!

You all know that I love Lois Lane, so much so that I wrote a whole book about her! There’s not much I enjoy more than chatting about everyone’s favourite intrepid reporter, and recently I got to do just that on the new Live With Lois Lane podcast, hosted by Sara Christian. The show focuses on live action versions of the character, but we dug into Lois Lane’s entire history in print as well before spending a bit of time with each cinematic and small screen Lois. It was a great time, and you should definitely give it a listen.

When you do, you’ll get a lot of Lois fun. We talked a bunch about the most fascinating superhero comic book of all time, Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane. I don’t think any other comic best captures the complicated gender dynamics of American society from the late 1950s through the early 1970s, and in the most bizarre ways. I also got to talk about my favourite Lois of all time, Phyllis Coates in the 1950s Adventures of Superman television show. She was such a force, and so ahead of her time. We touched upon all the other Loises too, including Margot Kidder’s iconic take on the character, Erica Durance stealing the entire second half of Smallville‘s run, and what we’re loving about Bitsie Tulloch on the current Superman and Lois show. Also, even though the focus is on live action, we did get in a mention of My Adventures With Superman, which is AMAZING. Have you been watching it? It’s such a fun take on the early days of Lois, Clark, and Jimmy. I highly recommend it.

I also highly recommend Live With Lois Lane! My own episode, sure, but all of the other episodes as well. Sara brings a fantastic love and appreciation of the character to the podcast, and she’s already done episodes about some iconic Loises. Give the show a follow on Twitter and Instagram, and be sure to check out some episodes wherever you listen to your podcasts and give Live With Lois Lane a positive review so others can find it too!
