A Visit to Old Blighty

I have been busy catching up these past couple of weeks, dealing with the thousand-odd emails that accumulated while I was over the Pond in London Towne for two-and-a-half weeks.   (Most of that was spam, though, and quickly dealt with).

It was a busy trip.  I have not been to London since before the Dublin Worldcon a few years ago.    That trip was largely for fun, this one was mostly work… though we did find time to see a few plays on the West End.  CABARET was amazing, but oh, so dark.   I lo...

Luiz Fernando I am not an obsessed fan that constantly looks for George's "hidden clues" about the Winds of Winter release date - that's not his style. But, those ambiguous lines right at the end of the "The Iron Throne" stage play paragraph and before the mention to his visit to his british publishers: ("Regardless, things are coming well, I think, and we are hopeful of being able to open in late 2024. Maybe. But you never know. There’s still a lot of work to be done.") George's cryptic remarks about late 2024 got me wondering — is this a subtle nod towards The Winds of Winter, or is he actually talking about his visit to the stage play? "Maybe. But you never know. There’s still a lot of work to be done." Classic George, keeping us on our toes. Is it a hint or just his signature unpredictability?
Let the guessing games begin.

By the way, I don't believe it's any hint whatsoever, but I found the transition from those lines to talking about his British Publishers amusing.
