An editorial cartoon depicting the Standard Oil company as a word-girdling kraken, choking the statehouse, legislature and White House in its tentacles. It has been modified. The kraken's head is now surmounted by the hostile red eye of HAL 9000 from Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey.'
