Announcements for 2025!
So, I have been working hard on the sequel to The Softer Side of Texas and am at 60% complete for it so far! I only got a little under 20k left to produce to have it done and sent on over to the publisher for editing!
Other than that, I wanted to announce that I recently got the Human Certified Author badge from the Authors Guild and I am one of the staunchly against using any AI for creative works and writing. I made that commitment back in April 2023 and have held to it. I am also one of the authors who had their book used against my consent by Meta in the LibGen data harvesting and I am one of the authors who is also on the class action lawsuit against them.
Many people make allegations these days, but I have been writing content for well over twenty-five years at this point and first got on Goodreads in 2013. I have been creating and writing for far longer than any AI has been in existence and I uphold the integrity of an imaginative creative who prides myself on that talent and went in to hone-in on it and educate myself. I am 90% deaf and I have many barriers that I've scaled to get to where I am, but never once did I take any shortcuts on my route to this point. It is expected that all of us will likely be accused of using AI tech even when we are not, and that many will try to water down our talent and invalidate our experiences but I am not going to allow any of you to do that to me.
I am the author of my story in life, and I am a devout truth teller and advocate. I will never, ever deny that my stories may need further edits and that not everyone will enjoy them but they are still my creations, and I put in hard work on my OWN to independently produce them.
So, you can like them, love them, hate them or lump them but one thing you will not do is label me something I am not. I reject all labels, and while readers are welcome to their subjective opinions - they won't be allowed to sway my character nor frame who I am. Only I can define that, and I stand firmly on the truth. I wrote all my stories, and I will continue to for as long as this life allows.
That said, Simply Scarlet has just been received back from the publisher for some relaunch editing, and we are lining up things to get it out there in the public again and on bookshelves. I anticipate several more books to come in some of my current series and that includes Simply Scarlet as it is now the Prism of Lies series and Embracing His Empire as it is now the Interwined Hearts of Pretus series and then, of course, there is The Sofer Side of Texas series that just relaunched Feb 21!
