Pre-Order

Sometimes I'll get so involved with the current novel I'm writing, I'll forget there are others I've yet to publish ... Still, I remembered this one, which is progress, I think.
This one was uncomfortable to write, to say the least, and actually came to me in a fever dream.
And, man, the research into Victorian slang was something else (I never thought I'd write the word "guttersnipe", let alone this many times!). I digress.
The story has strong elements of psychological horror, but also suspense. There is a twist, but I'd say it's more about the horrible journey the protagonist has to endure -- him, and others like him.
Happy ending? Hm, maybe. Perspective, I suppose.
Anyway, here's the blurb thingy:

"In the slums of Victorian London, a young boy known only as Rat is driven to commit a terrible crime to feed his desperate family. But when he's caught by a mysterious flower girl named Violet, whose eyes seem to hold a dark and sinister allure, he's drawn into a world of madness and terror.

In a world that has abandoned them, Rat and Violet will challenge everything you believe about innocence, survival, and the true nature of wealth.

A psychological horror that cuts deeper than a blade, this novel reveals the terrifying truth: Sometimes, the most monstrous acts are born from the most human of needs."

Ah, one last thing: it comes out October 1st. Everywhere, I believe. And it's on pre-order:
