Need Some Advice From My Faithful Readers

I have a tiny dilemma. It turns out that there's another book with the title 'The Bite That Binds' - my sequel to 'Here Be Sexist Vampires'. I always check before giving a book a title, but for whatever reason I hadn't found this other book on any list when I checked.

(Don't worry; I've done a mental 'note to self: check more thoroughly next time'.)

Anyway, although it's not illegal to reuse a title unless it has been trademarked - which this book hasn't - the book also happens to be about vampires. I guess with having 'bite' in the title, it's hardly surprising. It doesn't really affect me, so I thought I'd ask if you, as readers, would find it confusing to find two vampire books with the same title. I could always change it slightly to 'Bites That Bind' or 'A Bite That Binds'...? Any input would be appreciated.

I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who bought TBTB, hope you all enjoyed it. I'm now working on the third instalment of the Phoenix Pack series, 'Tremors of Need', which centres around Shaya and Nick. I can't give any background to the story without leaving spoilers for 'Wicked Cravings' and I'd rather not do that. Not long left until WC is released. In fact, it's just eighteen more days until the re-release of 'Feral Sins'. It had once seemed so long away.

Take care everyone!

Suzanne

Keri I don't think having two books with the same title would be a problem for people who use tools like Goodreads to research books before buying them, however, I think it could be confusing for people who don't use these types of tools unless they are clear on the author's name. Love your books!!

Susan Bitten and Bound ? (or the reverse?)

Bites and Bound?
The Binding Bite?

Feral Sins!!! Was so HOT and I loved the chemistry between Trey and Taryn!! O. M. G.
And...oh yeah... Happy Happy Birthday Trey (and Taryn is one lucky woman!)

Betsy I don't think it's a big deal having two books with the same name. I always look things up on goodreads and there are several with the same name a lot of the time. I always verify the author - and being as I love your books I'd make sure to check it was you :) Can't wait for Wicked Cravings!

Debra Taylor It's not a big deal having two books with the same title. I've found that it happens quite often. Most people do some research before purchasing books anyway. I'm a big fan of downloading the samples to get a feel for the book also. I always verify the author, also. However, I loved one of the commenters suggestions : Bitten and Bound. Sounds exciting !
Love all your books. Congrats on the upcoming Wicked Cravings. Can't wait to read it.

Suzanne Wright Thanks for your replies, everyone! I saw a draft of the cover for Wicked Cravings yesterday, it was great. If you didn't already know, half of the first chapter is up on my website. Take care, S

Clarke Keep "The Bite That Binds." It's the title you chose and fits the book well.

I like Bite that Binds dropping The. Cant wait to read it though!!

Angarad Hello, I saw the 2 titles and really, it didn´t bother me that much. I saw worse, like when the title is only one word, you have 10 choices :)
However, between your 2 new propositions, I would go for A Bite that Binds.

message 9: by Andrea (new)

Andrea I like "Bitten and Bound" or maybe "The Bite that Counts"....

Suzanne Wright Thanks to all of you! I really appreciate the input. Take care, S

Tee Loves Books Doesn't bother me, and the GR search will pull up more than one for most titles I search anyway! =)

Lettee I actually noticed that when I went to Amazon to find this book to read. I was at first confused, but then all you have to do is look for Author name to know which is which. I personally don't think it matters. I read A LOT and notice MANY multiple books duplicated in names. (Not to mention Book Covers as well. I think duplicated book covers is more of a cringe than anything.) Sooooo, no, I don't think you should worry about the title. :)

Suzanne Wright Thanks Erin and Lettee! :)
