Help me find a new series title!

Really. I mean it. I know you think you have a stupid idea. I know you think you don't have a creative bone in your body.

Well, you know what? I think you're wrong.

You can email me your suggestion, if you like. Because I like....

C.D. Reiss You can put your suggestions here.

I hate "Los Angeles Nights," that's the upshot of this madness.

If I pick your suggestion, I'll send you a signed print copy of the omnibus of Sequence One, when it comes out.

Just try.

Really.

Julia Honestly i like "Beg" that theme is across the series. right?

C.D. Reiss Who knows, by book 12....? LOL....

~ Cariad ~ I love that you're changing the series title!
My suggestion for the contest...

The Command Series

So a trailer could be:
She commands an audience
He commands her

And the titles feel like commands to me, so:
Command #1 - Beg
Command #2 - Tease
Command #3 - Submit etc

Whatever series title you choose (and to be honest I love Julia's Beg Series suggestion), I wish you every success with the books, you can see from my reviews that I'm a huge fan already and will continue to be.

I would like to vote for this one!!! Cariad, you summed it all up! They do command!

message 7: by C.D. (last edited Mar 12, 2013 05:41PM) (new)

C.D. Reiss Yeah, that's what I liked about it. Then I looked it up and Command has been used like a hundred times for series titles but I do still like it. Hurm.

message 8: by ♥Trish♥ (last edited Mar 12, 2013 06:21PM) (new)

♥Trish♥ At his bidding
beholden (to him)
In his eyes

Then Beg, Tease, Submit etc..

No matter what please keep writing them :)

ooooooo i like

In my thesaurus search I came across

salvaged - because music saved her and she saves him?
Beseech - for command

what do you think?

message 12: by C.D. (new)

C.D. Reiss Look at Cariad getting all double entendre on me. :)
Something like that makes doing "command" all right don't you think?

Yay!!!! Any tech issues you have, I can help you out with. I'm the hon savvy. My profession.

C.D. Reiss Julia....I had no idea..... :))

message 18: by C.D. (new)

C.D. Reiss As you can imagine, I've been giving this a LOT of thought.

Command Performance gives double, even triple entendre (if you remember a man's "performance" in bed) but it does not broadcast genre. So I was thinking....

The Cadence of His Command
Command 1 - Beg
Command 2 - Tease
Command 3 - Submit

If we hate that, and keep inside music theory, there's also

The Measure of his Command

So....what do you all think?

message 19: by ♥Trish♥ (new)

♥Trish♥ I like!

message 20: by Julia (new)

Julia Once I looked what cadence was, I like!!! Love double meaning.

~ Cariad ~ The Cadence of His Command

Oh God, I hope we don't fall out over this!
I don't like it.

I think it's too much of a mouthful (we'll all end up calling it The Command Series anyway just to shorten it).

Soooo, I've been having a think and if it's not too late would like to submit:

The Prelude Series

As a noun it means:
An action or event serving as an introduction to something more important.

Here's my thoughts...
~ It's also music related which ties in.
~ It sounds like a series title for smart smut!
~ They are at the prelude of their relationship.
~ She is in the prelude of her career.
~ I've done an Amazon search and there isn't a Prelude series!

Hopefully, we'll still be friends!!

message 22: by C.D. (new)

C.D. Reiss Of course we are still friends! Friends are always honest and courteous, like you.

But when I'm on book 12....it's not a prelude any more. That would only work for sequence one.

My intention is to take her deep into her career, and their relationship, until you get sick of me.

Let me keep thinking :)

Good point!
So the series title could reflect where your going, rather than where we're at? It's a really tough challenge!

Erik Hello C.D.

First of all: I am blown away by the first two books, beg and tease. It would be the first time for me but I am seriously considering writing a review of them.

Now for the series name. I understand that the singing career of Monica will remain a subject. So in the line of that and as I assume that the current role of Jonathan will deepen also I propose:

Songs of Dominance

It would go like this:

Songs of Dominance 01 - Beg
Songs of Dominance 02 - Tease
Songs of Dominance 03 - Submit

etc

The name isn't in use as far as I know.

I am curious what you think.

message 25: by C.D. (new)

C.D. Reiss Thanks Erik. I'm excited to hear that you like them.

Let's switch this around a little.....how about --

Songs of Submission

Song 1 - Beg
Song 2 - Tease
Song 3 - Submit

message 26: by Julia (new)

Julia I like that. It is more about her. She submits in to her career, to him, to life. This way you can have what ever level of dominance you want without having the reader have any expectations.

I like.

Better, I think. The singer is the one who submits.

I still like the word song in the series name, especially when you stick to short book titles like beg tease etc.

A search in Goodreads for "songs of submission" results in one and a half exact title matches. There are no series with that name so not a great problem.

I think I like Songs of Submission

~ Cariad ~ Songs of Submission

It's perfect.

Looks like you got there in the end CD?

message 29: by C.D. (new)

C.D. Reiss This is as close as I've felt. I put it into my new cover.

I'm wondering if it should be...

Verse - Beg
Chorus - Tease
Coda - Submit

No. I think that is too much. You are trying to cram too many things in to the title. Songs of submission. And then the one name titles for the scenes. Beg tease and submit.

message 31: by ~ Cariad ~ (new)

~ Cariad ~ I agree with Julia, it's too much!

Songs of Submission
is a beautiful series title
and then simply - Beg, Tease, Submit etc as the book titles

message 32: by Erik (new)

Erik I think I agree also with Julia.
The verse-chorus-coda addition seems too artificial to me.

But perhaps it is worth mulling about what else or extra you can do with

Song 1 - Beg

For instance:

Opening Song - Beg

Just a thought
