And Time Marches On

I just went back through the posts here, looking at the dogs' baby pictures. Emma is now 6, Jackson 4.5, and Zoe 2. Doesn't seem possible that much time has passed. The pack is doing well. Jack is alpha now and puts Zoe in her place now and then. Zoe and Em have the occassional scrap, too, but this seems to be because they are both female. Otherwise, they are good friends and play together nicely.

Jack has been interesting to watch develop. He no longer cowers and pees when approached by another male at the dog beach. Instead, he curls his lip and growls at male pups, especially those who haven't been neutered. Otherwise, he's friendly with the other beach dogs. He still is especially interested in small dogs, probably because he grew up with Em. He's better with guests, too. He barks at first, but warms up much more quickly. We had friends in last night and he was Mr. Social. Em and Zoe are very friendly and there is less guarding behavior when friends come in, although there is much barking.

We were lax about keeping them off the furniture and the leather livin groom set finally wore out. We have discovered that putting aluminum foil on the new set keeps dogs off nicely. Aluminum foil and squirt guns: don't have dogs without them.
