So, my next novel is done! Okay, fine, the first draft is done. And now I need to read and edit all 348 pages before sending it to my editor at Penguin Random House (in case you haven't heard, they merged).

I'm staring at a freshly printed stack of crisp white computer paper emblazoned with my very own words and anxiously waiting to dive in. Okay, fine, I'm a little nervous to dive in. It's so hard to have perspective on your own writing.

But, instead of working today, on this gorgeous July 4th, I'm going to hang out with good friends and eat delicious food. I may even have a well-deserved cocktail ;)
