Kirkus and ALA

On July 1, I had the honor of sitting on a panel at ALA with five other fabulous women. Ellen Hopkins was our moderator, and we made up the Simon & Schuster Debut YA Author panel. After talking about our books and doing a speed round with each different table of librarians, we went to the Printz award reception. This night was a dream come true. Actually, I couldn't have dreamed anything this great.

And because somehow the stars all lined up, I got my first trade publication review for Leap of Faith. A starred review in Kirkus. https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/jamie-blair/leap-of-faith-blair/

Leading up to the release of Leap of Faith in a few weeks, Sept. 3, I've got high hopes that many readers will enjoy Faith's story. She had a long journey both within the book and getting to the point of becoming a book. I'd given up on her, but a few of my early readers had not. I owe Kathleen Peacock and Annie McElfresh a world of gratitude for believing that this book was THE ONE to be published and I'm looking forward to more YA releases in the future!
