For those of you who are writers in addition to readers, you might want to check out my mammoth series of BLog entries on writing. Especially for newbies, it's a wealth of information on pretty much everything I know about writing, from the big picture stuff (like, "How do I get published?") and the important issues (like how to craft dialogue), all the way down to the nitty-gritty (like, adverbs and overwriting).
