September 11th. Twelve years. Kids who were born in September 2001 are turning or have turned twelve years old. I have a granddaughter among them. I remember being present at her birth, not many days after 9/11, and thinking how good it was to have a moment of happiness amid all of the fear and uncertainty and sorrow.
