When It Works, It Works

Sharing fun stuff from today! I needed help plotting some of the revisions (Due in a week. Remember? EEK?) and Rachel Vincent needed help plotting something as well.

So, she picked me up (I have no freaking car. Was a bit stir crazy despite so much work to do.) and we had a LONG working lunch today. When we get together, we work our butts off. We accomplished so much today, I’m in awe. I mean we REALLY came up with some brilliant stuff. I don’t know what happens but it’s like our brains fire back and forth in the best way. Everyone else in the restaurant disappears and we sink into our stories. Clap. Laugh. Get the big eyes…We probably look ridiculous…

(We’ve been critiquing together for seven years. SEVEN!)

So, I can’t tell you anything about it, but what she’s working on might be my favorite story. EVER. Not just from her. From ANYONE. I can’t wait until it’s out there for readers. I spent most of the afternoon rubbing the goose bumps on my arms. (And trying to rub feeling in my right one because I’m still fighting a painful and numbing pinched nerve issue from the car accident.  )

Then… Rachel made me see what my story needed. I knew it. I fought it. But I knew it. She just tweeted this:

So, if @RindaElliott’s new @HarlequinTEEN series makes you cry, you can probably blame me.

See that? You have her permission to blame her when my book makes you cry. LOL
