Natalie Portman was the actress who portrayed Padme in the Star Wars Episodes 1-3. She probably had the worst deal of any of the Star Wars characters. She met Anakin in Episode 1 when he was a little boy, fell in love with him a few years later, married him, then became pregnant. Anakin's prophetic dreams where he saw Padme's death caused him to go over to the dark side. Little did he know that his own hands would lead to her death.

After Anakin loses his mind and starts killing Jedi, even the younglings, Padme goes to Mustafar to find him. Unbeknownst to her, Obi-Wan was hiding away on her ship. When Obi-Wan reveals himself to confront Anakin, Anakin becomes angry and wrongly concludes that Padme had betrayed him. Anakin/Darth Vader almost strangled her to death but after Obi-Wan fights with and leaves Anakin for dead, is able to get her medical help. Sadly, Padme gives birth to her and Anakin's twins, Luke and Leia, right before she dies of heartbreak, or from being almost choked to death.
