Let’s All Take A Deep Breath

Yesterday we announced on the JD Robb Facebook page that Amber Entertainment has optioned the In Death books. And the comment section exploded. Reactions ranged from excitement and delight to abject despair and even anger–with every possible emotion that falls between. Casting suggestions (and demands) flew like grapeshot.
I’m going to take this opportunity to address some of those concerns, suggestions, demands.
First the option is for a feature film, and is in the very early stages of develop...

Mary Depending on what actress they pick and the actor to play the leading roles this could be great filming or a complete catastrophe. I am hoping for the great filming bit.

Jessie Having witnessed the furor over Outlander being announced as a mini-series, then cast, it's going to be an on-going parade of the ridiculous and unreasonable. The way some people cast these things in their heads bears no resemblance whatsoever to the character descriptions. People would be better served to just sit back and wait. If and when, just watch it or don't watch it.

Katheryn Thompson I'm not sure it would work, because the beauty of the characters is that everyone sees them differently - I mean, the casting of Roarke alone would be impossible.

Jessie Well, movies have been made of popular books for a long time. People just have to hope they honor the basic concept of the character, then people have to accept and give it a chance.

I suppose a film would have a lot of pressure but also a lot of fans...
