Update on writing and life: 08/22/15

I have started the process to get the property next door! That is, I did all my signing and paid for it. The seller is in California, so should have everything signed and back by Monday or Tuesday.

That will give me just shy of nineteen acres to work with. The goal is to start a self-sufficient homestead type mini-farm. There's no water on the property, so I've been working on various forms of rain water collection, as well as dew collection from the air. (By working on, I mean thinking about. Not actually doing that yet.) I have the first ten test trees planted, to see if I can get them through the winter. So far so good!

Next week will be all about the other one and getting the wood stove ready for winter. (I also need to get wood in, but even though I have a lot on the property, I think I'll probably end up buying it. There just...

Randy Look into AWG (atmospheric water generators), Basically surface treatment that reorders the structures of the containment/collection vessels with hydrophobic attributes for channeling the water that is lost to evaporation. Also, constructing a central cistern for storage is ideal, preferently constructed below ground for better containment and evaporative recapturing.
Eliminating leaks is key to any water gathering/storage system. Make sure to include some type of agitator to the cistern, (wind-driven work just fine.) to prevent oraganic contaminants.
Btw, love your books.
