NIV, the flesh and the on-going work of revision

Zondervan and Biblica continue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the NIV project. (I’ve mentioned this before here.) There are some new products out or on their way …

Coming soon is a parallel Greek-English New Testament using the USB 5th Edition of the Greek text and the NIV 2011 for the English text. It’s available for pre-order here from amazon.com and amazon.co.uk.
For those of you who use a hardcopy concordance there is now a concordance of the NIV 2011 which is available here from amazon.com and ThinkIVP.
Finally, the shiny, new study NIV Bible based on biblical theology edited by Don Carson is now available in the UK from ThinkIVP as well as in the US from amazon.com.

The NIV website includes a series of videos entitled ‘Made for You’ and a couple of interesting articles on:

the (welcome) switch to using ‘flesh’ to translate sarx instead of ‘sinful nature’
the on-going work of revision (including the move to more gender-inclusive language)

(For a very helpful article on sarx see The Gradual Nature of Sanctification: Sarx as Habituated, Relational Resistance to the Spirit by Steven Porter in Themelios 39.3.)
