My Kind of Crazy

Back around 95 or so, in my early college years, I went over to a friend’s house and sat down on the couch next to him. He was watching a documentary about David Bowie.

Trey Am glad you recognized Bowie's talent and influence. Frankly, I believe his impact on Western society was quite a bit more than is recognized. Terrible loss.

In my college years (early 80's), he was a music staple and among my group was regularly listened to and referenced. Of course, we were also the D&D, science-fiction/fantasy nerds, some who wore mohawks (at a conservative college) and some struggling with gender identity. I just enjoyed being around people who expressed their difference in contrast to societal "norm". Bowie's freedoms influenced us all to be more comfortable in our skin. His impact drove other singers and performers to pull back the blinds and expose the layers of inner weird in every person. I wish him well wherever he is now...
