Hey everyone!
I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting the next installment of The DeLuca Family Series. Believe me when I tell you that I want you to have it as much as you do.
As many of you know I am a new author and Omertà was my first book. Trust me when I tell you that this experience has been nothing short of a dream come true. However, achieving your dreams also comes with a lot of hard work. I'm juggling raising my daughter, my day job and other obligations while trying to keep up with emails from readers (which I absolutely love), and the whole business side of being an author which I had no clue was as complicated and involved as it is, all while trying to write.
Now, please understand that this is not some sort of sob story, I LOVE what I do and I wouldn't stop if you paid me.
What I've found out along the way is that, like many of us starting a new journey, I've made some mistakes. I felt pressure to put out a release date for Vendetta before I was ready, yes readers wanted to know when the next installment was coming out but really the pressure I felt was from myself.
I over extended myself then got sick which forced me to push back the release of Hot Mess, my second book, by two weeks. Now I find myself two weeks out from my self imposed due date for Vendetta and I'm not ready to part with these characters yet, they still have more to say.
I don't want to let any of my readers down, and I hope you understand how hard it is for me to make you wait any longer, but in order to give my readers and these characters the story they deserve I have to do the hard thing and push back the release of Vendetta. I could put it out on January 31st as planned, but I know I wouldn't be happy with it, and if I'm not happy with it not many of you would be either.
That being said, the new release date for Vendetta will be February 29th. I hate to have to do this but I feel like it's the right thing.
I can however promise you that I will not put myself in this position again, you may have to live with a little more ambiguity in terms of my future releases but I assure you that I've learned from my missteps here and won't be falling into this situation again.
Thank you so much for understanding and I promise Frankie, Enzo and Eddie's story will be worth the wait.
Love,
K.A.
