jealousy is in everyone, does not mean me or you or anyone else in the world is evil.... but yes, he did go to stupid length s to kill his BEST friend becuse of longer life....
I think at first it was jealousy but then that developed to fanaticism
well it became an obsession maybe he was listening to too much of the sound track angels and insects by papa roach or immortal by adema and the words warped his brain
but clearly it is not the obsession of being a vampire but the obsession of becomeing as good as being called immortal, well not immortal but he knew that they age only one 10th of every year of a human and to him it was the closest thing to him as immortal, he hated his mother, had only 1 best frend, hated school, never really enjoyed life.... that is why his greed and jealousy turned into an obsession, because he felt that he was a lost cause, he did not want to live anymore amoung those who he looked down at and those who he felt that were against him...the only true friend is himself
wel there you have it, steve being a vampaneze is made him feel superior and not only that he has got himself a bit big headed because desmond tiny had told not only a bunch of people that the coffin a man will lie in will not perish the LORD of the entire clan for generations and because he, saw that there was nothing to lose yeah what the hell i'd try it he thought and when he arose unharmed ( mr tiny meddling again as he does ) made sure that no flames got him and this boosed not only his ego but his vengence too and his head must have exploded when he knew that he was the chosen "lord of shadows" so there you have it, desmond tiny is the one who made the monster in the boy evil, not steve that is evil, he is meerly mis-guided and has had a poor upbringing...but desmond spoit him with gift of long life, power to soon turn into the world into the wasteland that harket and darren went to and probs enough power to drive him insane. and it got too much for him, ...oh wait, in sons of detiny...didn't at near enough the end, darren asked desmond why he found it amusing to turn two friends against each other and desmond replied something along the line of "the vampires wanted peace with humans and each other, it is getting too boring and i needed to make thing more exciting" well not those exact words but in so many words thatwhat he meant didn't he? or am i wrong ?
what do you think about desmond being a part of him being evil, what is your conclusion?

I ethink it was part of tiny's plan
you forget desmond can entise but not make desisions for them, it was upto darren to be good and not seek greed or power... he has a way of trying to advertise trouble
