Great review, Alex, of a terrific book. Imagine Driberg getting past the selection procedure of any political party now in these supposedly more enlightened times. Might be difficult.

For me he's in the category of people where it would be brilliant to see him every six months or so at someone else's party, but I wouldn't want to be close friends.
