Just not with Dedrie. I hope she's a wet blanket
Kiki I agree that WHAT CAME BEFORE HE SHOT HER was moving, and we needed that book. I also hope Daidre is not the woman for Lynley. I don't think she's a wet blanket, but she's not suited to Lynley, and if he's happily married, his story will be over. Oh, dear! Don't want that! (less)
I accidentally read What Came Before He Shot her out of order and didn’t really understand its significance at the time. Ms George, I think that that book is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Personally, I think it should be required reading for young people but because of the subject matter and language it probably won’t be. I have read it twice and loved it more the second time. Anyone who doesn’t read this is missing out. Please tell me that at some point we will find out what happens to Joel. I want so badly for something good to come for him. Will he ever meet Tommy? I just finished Careless In Red. I absolutely love how Barbara is always there for her friend. Thanks so much for such a brilliant series.
I love Barbara, too. She's actually my favorite. I applaud Ms. George for having the courage to kill one of her characters. Most authors don't have that courage. To me, the death made the series even deeper and more layered than it was before, and it was already superior to any other mystery series out there. Ms. George's Lynley mysteries are one of the joys of my life.
