This is exciting to hear! I read The Two Princesses of Bamarre 15 years ago and I never forgot it I loved it so much. Planning to reread it again soon after Stolen Magic.
That books was my absolute favorite as a child/young adult. It helped shape who I am as a person, and I STILL carry my same copy with me everywhere I move. I am 24 now. So happy to hear this!!

Oh, you're working on a prequel? That makes me so happy. The Two Princesses of Bamarre is a book that I read when I was little, and I've re-read it many times since, every couple of years, because it brings me back to such a happy time in my life.
Two Princesses of Bamarre will always hold a special place in my heart. It saw me through some tough times as a kid. I felt that I could relate so well to the characters. Thank you, thank you so much for writing Two Princesses. I can't wait to read the prequel!
*makes ridiculous high-pitched squealing noise* I have wanted more from Bamarre since I first read it! I'm so excited!

should I read this first book before the two princesses of bamarre?
YES!!! I went to the library looking for Ella Enchanted (which I had already read and wanted to re-read), but they didn't have it. This was how I discovered The Two Princesses of Bamarre, which I, being stubborn and reluctant to deviate from my original plan, took home in defeat. I don't know what I was thinking--if I hadn't read that book, I would be missing out on something truly wonderful! I now own both Ella Enchanted and the Two Princesses of Bamarre and love them equally.
IS the prequel "the lost kingdom of Barmarre" ? I just picked up that book thinking it was a stand alone. So can I read the Lost Kingdom first?
