I think I finished it but it was definately not put in my permanent collection. I hate it when the one character I acutally liked gets hooped immediately.

Ye. And in the first book, at least as far as I got, the world building wasn't all that great--sort of medievaloid postmodern. (Of course, that is exactly what many readers want)

Right -- well it was a bit truer to life I guess. :) For example, the life in a regency romance really isn't explained. :) We'd love to visit but I'm sure certain lacks we didn't expect would drive us to run home. :) Tansy poisoning anyone? :)

Oh, how about calomel, a supposed cure and health dose commonly given kids? I wonder how many died of mercury poisoning and they had no idea?
