Yes diversity in opinion, ideas, talent, and intelligent and memorable storytelling are both necessary and encouraged.
I wonder if it has more to do with people being more accepting as to what went on during those times. There will always be those in "denial" and those that just don't want to face the facts but with more and more people not being oppressed like they once were-are able to speak out and bring it to life.
