Thank you for answering David Moody! What was your inspiration for Autumn? Did you always intend for it to end the way it did?

Autumn was initially a homage to Romero's Night of the Living Dead. It started out as an 'empty Earth' story where the survivors had to deal with everyone else dying, but it soon became clear that the dead needed to make a reappearance. I wanted to write a more believable zombie story (if you can have such a thing!). If I'm honest, I didn't have the whole story arc planned out before I started, but I did know what was going to happen to the living dead, and what their true motives were for hounding the living. The more I wrote, though, the clearer the ending of the series became.

I read Autumn during a dark time of my own life, but your books helped me shoulder a lot of my own struggles. Thank you for creating such a amazing series.
