Historical fiction: Immerse yourself in another time period, learn about real events, and meet larger-than-life historical figures. Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth or Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series are good options. Non-fiction: Biographies of inspiring figures, books about science and technology, or even self-help guides can be very engaging for men interested in learning and personal growth. Think Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs or Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers.
